These are very good nippers. They take such a heavy cut that they require a barrel spring to open the handles back up after each cut. The actual length of the handles gives you more leverage allowing better cutting ability with less force. Do not compare these to the operation of a cuticle nipper. A cuticle nipper may actually require more force to make a clean cut because they are smaller and do not allow for much leverage. If you have thick or tough nails go with this barrel spring nipper.

Not a bad product when you think about it. Good idea really. However, poor manufacturing. These nippers take a nice cut and the spring opens up the handles for continuous use. However, the spring keeps falling out. Back to the drawing board.
